The poem explores the final moments of Yang Kuei-fei, a prominent concubine in the Tang Dynasty.

Deluxe edition with marmered dustjacket with two clasps of bone. 17 x 12 cm. All pages with laid paper. In good condition, except for some foxing (age related spots) on the pages.

Provenance: Ex libris of Ida Joekes pasted in the dust jacket. In art deco style. This is most likely Ida Joekes who lived between 1886-1948 born in Borneo and died at Driebergen-Rijsenburg, child of Adolf Marcus Joekes and Elisabeth Helena LIefrinck. From the genealogical tree of Jan Ariensz. Decker.

[NL] Yang Kuei-fei (719-56), bekend als Yôkihi in Japan, was de favoriete concubine van de Chinese T’ang keizer Hsüan Tsung (685-762). Yang Kuei-fei, ook bekend als Yang Guifei, was de favoriete bijvrouw van keizer Xuanzong en bekend vanwege haar schoonheid en invloed op de keizer. Belangrijke Chinese historische vrouw.
