The collection consists of a total of 6 volumes, although this specific set contains 5: the “Assemblée Constituante. Suivi de Réflexions politiques sur les circonstances” is not included. The work was originally begun by Jean-Paul Rabaut, but continued by Charles de Lacretelle (1766-1855) when Rabaut was guillotined in 1793. Chonological tables of remarkable events are present at the beginning or end of the volumes. Engraved illustrations. Lacretelle is considered a pioneer in the study of the history of the French Revolution.
