Bust portrait of Kenau Hasselaer wearing a dark suit with a collar with a pleated edge and a white hat with twisted briefs. On her right shoulder, she wears, on a piece of string, a medal with a rampant lion. At bottom right a gun handle and hilt of a sword are visible. According to the legend, Hasselaer played a crucial role in the liberation of the city of Haarlem from the Spanish siege in 1573. Titled below, with publisher’s address: ‘KENAU SIMONS HASSELAER. Publie’pas Soetens & Fils, á La Haye’.
