Hand colored view of the Town Hall in The Hague (het oude Stadhuis in Den Haag). On the left a small portion of the Grote Kerk. Carriages and people roaming the streets.

This print was used in: Jacob de Riemer’s: “Beschryving van ‘s-Graven-Hage…” Delft and Den Haag, 1730-1739.

Titled above, on a ribbon: ‘STAD HUIS.’ Signed at bottom: ‘G.v. Giessen del. / R. Boitet Excud. Cum Privil’.

 

Handcolored etching on paper with margins; plate mark: 284 x 348 mm, total: 310 x 380 mm; aging paper, some smudges, light damp stain on verso, otherwise in good condition.
