View of the Plein square in The Hague (Plein, Den Haag), seen from the west side. On the left, the palace that was substituted in 1870 with the current building of the De Witte Society (Nieuwe of Litteraire Societeit De Witte), on the right, the palace of the Logement van Amsterdam. The square is crowded with troops under the trees. Titled below in Dutch and French: “GEZICHT VAN HET PLEIN IN ‘S HAGE, opgedragen aan den H.r CONSTANT de REBECQUE Heer van Hermenches & Villars Mendra Collonel van de Jnfantery &c &c &c 1758 door zijn wel Eedele Ootmoedugste dienaar H. Scheurleer F.Z. / VUE du PLAIN DE LA HAYE…”

Etching on paper with margins; plate mark: 300 x 420 mm, total: 370 x 530 mm; some tears and dirt along the external margins, some light foxing at bottom, overall in good condition. A tear on the top margin repaired on verso with tape.
