[NL] Begrafenisstoet van de in maart 1676 te Hamburg overleden Wirtz. Linksboven de Oude Kerk te Amsterdam. Onderaan het portret van Wirtz en rechtsonder in de prent een verklaring van de deelnemers aan de stoet. Muller en Van Stolk dateren de prent ten onrechte op 24 oktober 1676. Wirtz onderscheidde zich in de oorlog tussen Zweden en Polen en werd door de Zweedse koning in de adelstand verheven als baron van Ornholm. Later ging hij over in dienst van de Republiek der Verenigde Nederlanden, tot hij in 1674 ontslag vroeg. Twee jaar later overleed hij te Hamburg en drie jaar na zijn overlijden is zijn lijk herbegraven te Amsterdam in de Oude Kerk (NNBW I, 1581). Gesigneerd middenonder: ‘ROMANUS DE HOOGHE’.

Underneath the portrait of Wirtz in an oval, on the bottom on the right a list of the participants in the procession. Muller and Van Stolk date the picture wrongly on 24 October 1676. Wirtz distinguished himself in the war between Sweden and Poland, and was knighted by the Swedish king as Baron Ornholm. Later, he went into the service of the Republic of the United Netherlands until he resigned early in 1674. Two years later he died in Hamburg and three years after his death, his corpse was reburied in Amsterdam in the Oude Kerk (NNBW I, 1581). Signed on the bottom under the epigraph:’ROMANUS DE HOOGHE’.
