Portrait of German banker Johann Ulrich Krauss (1703-1772), three-quarter length, seated at a table on which are papers, wearing a wig, dark jacket over patterned waistcoat and lace cravat, with his left hand pointing to the right, curtain with tassel behind, in a rectangular frame upon a ledge, with the coat of arms of the sitter.

Lettered on paper on table with: Praesentatum d. 10 Janu: 1761.; ledge with the name of the sitter as above followed by information about his function and his dates: S. T. Herr Johann Ulrich Krauss des innern Raths und Ungeld Herr Banquier / gebohren Ao. 1703. den 28. 8ber, gestorben Ao. 1772. den 1. April.; at bottom right with production details: J. Elias Haid fecit Aug. Vind.

[NL] Antieke prent, Mezzoting, zwarte kunst prent uit 1772 gemaakt door Johann Elias Haid. Portret van de Duitse bankier Johann Ulrich Krauss (1703-1772), driekwart lengte, zittend aan een tafel waarop papieren liggen, een pruik dragend, donker jasje over vest met patroon en kanten das, met zijn linkerhand naar rechts wijzend, gordijn met kwast erachter, in een rechthoekige lijst op een richel, met zijn wapenschild.
