Portrait of Lodwijk of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel (1718-1788), half length in an oval frame on a pedestal, wearing wig, neckcloth, armour, sash, and star.

Lettered with title, and production details along the bottom: A. Schouman del. ad viv. 1755., D. Onder de Linden Excudit., and J. Houbraken sculps. On the pedestal: Lodewyk. Hertog van Brunswyk Wolfenbuttel, Generaal Veld-Marschalk der Vereenigde Nederlanden. Kollonel van de Hollandsche Gardes te voet, enz. enz. enz.

The print was included in the first part of E. Buys, Historie van het doorluchtig huis van Brunswyk, Amsterdam 1762, behind the title page.

[NL] Antieke prent, gravure, gemaakt door oude meester Jacob Houbraken. Portret ten halven lijve naar links van Lodewijk Ernst, hertog van Brunswijk-Wolfenbüttel in een ovaal. Het portret rust op een piëdestal waarop zijn naam en gegevens in vijf regels in het Nederlands.
