A collection of 10 songs by Eliza Laurillard (1830-1908).

In Amsterdam, Laurillard developed into one of the most popular preachers of the last half of the nineteenth century. Vincent van Gogh, among others, greatly appreciated his preaching, and as a court preacher he visited Queen Wilhelmina several times in the court chapel at Paleis Het Loo. Laurillard also engaged in a fairly wide literary network, as evidenced by his extensive correspondence with many major writers of the nineteenth century, including Nicolaas Beets, Samuel Johannes van den Bergh, Jacques Perk, Joseph Alberdingk Thijm en Herman Heijermans.
