First edition of this beautiful book of the Rare and Curious birds in Great Brittain, in the menagery (zoo) of Osterly Park London, the estate of the famous family Robert & Sarah Child. Osterley Park is a Georgian country estate in west London, which straddles the London boroughs of Ealing and Hounslow.

With all 100 fine hand-coloured engraved illustrations of the birds. Missing, as often, the frontispice. Plates after Hayes, his wife and children. Some foxing, soiling and light staining. Later half leather binding, spine gilt with flower motives. Guilt edges. Some wear on the edges due to use.
