Illustrated with plates illustrating all aspects of how armies might attach or defend in the various conditions of war (forts, rivers, other terrain). Many copies are lacking the maps, but this copy is complete and has all 25 (folding) plates in the back of volume 2 (as well as the explanation of the letters in the plates).
