Memoirs of the Dutch minister P. H. Hugenholtz (1834-1911). Among other things, this work provides insight in the rising disputes between various factions of the Dutch Reformed Church.

One of Hugenholtz’s biggest objections was the dogmatic nature of some of the Church’s confirmation questions: in fact, several ministers felt it nearly impossible to ask these questions without being “untrue” to themselves and left the Church.
