Duck hunt [Trapping ducks assisted by trained dogs in pipenets]
A man in the foreground is kneeling behind a fence and is showing to some ladies how to catch ducks. The birds are lured into a nest while swimming on a river. Other ducks are flying in the sky. In the distance, on the background a city. In reverse respect Hans Bol’s version [New Hollstein 299] and with some remodelling in the characters behind the trees to the left. Inscribed in Latin on the bottom:’Argutus tumidas quid cristas erigis ecce […] Donec inescatam perdomuere canes.’
Engraving on paper, trimmed within platemark; total: 167 x 116 mm; some dirt and damages repaired at the bottom.
