The definitive edition of the highly successful school book by the educator and writer, the professor of history, geography and German language August Heinrich Petiscus (1780-1846). He cleaned the arther revealing stories from antiquity for the youth. This can also be seen in the illustrations, where almost all reproductions of images from ancient Greece are “cleanly” falsified – an interesting testimony to the editorial work of the youth books “ad usum delphini”. The book has engraved plates showing ancient deities and mythological figures. Some are coloured.
