Third illustration of a series of 8 on the Batavian revolt (69-70) copied from Otto van Veen’s (1556-1629) "Batavorum cum Romanis bellum …" (1612). Here German soldiers come to help civilians to defeat the Romans near the city of Bonn. From "C. Cornelius Tacitus in ’t Hollandtsch vertaalt door Pieter Corneliszoon Hooft, Hendrik Boom en de weduwe van Dirk Boom". Under the picture: "De Baavieren en Caninefaten slaen de Romainen by Bonna"
