Richard Lalonde was one of the most successful interior designers of the Louis XVI style. Lalonde was a French ornamental designer who worked also in the Garde-Meuble de la Couronne and the Menus Plaisirs in 1760. Under the Ancien Régime, Lalonde also designed furniture with prominent cabinet makers such as Guillaume Benneman and Joseph Stöckel and published influential sets of designs. The prints are detailed and show the design for the interior chimneys (openhaarden).
