The first Great Assembly of the General States (Staten-Generaal) held in the Ridderzaal from the 18th until the 21st January 1651.

The personification of Concorde keeps the Seven Provinces together.

They hold each other’s hand and form a circle. The allegory stands between two medallions with two small representations of political events, explained by the caption hanging below.

[NL] De Eerste Grote Vergadering van de Staten-Generaal, gehouden in de Ridderzaal van 18 tot 21 januari 1651. Eendracht verenigt de zeven provincies. Zij reiken elkaar de hand en vormen een kring. De voorstelling wordt geflankeerd door twee medaillons waarop twee politieke gebeurtenissen zijn afgebeeld.
