A man with a child is begging for money on the street. Inscription in Dutch at the bottom: ‘Steets Avond voor het log Verstand,… Te zalven door milddadigheden’. Signed under the picture: ‘P. Barbiers inv. et del. / P. Langendijk sculp.’ From a set of various similar compositions.
Engraving on paper, printed in red ink, trimmed within plate mark, total: 116 x 87 mm; traces of previous mounting on verso, otherwise in very good condition.
