Portrait of Johan van den Honert; half-length turned slightly to the right, facing the viewer; wearing a long curly wig; pointing with his right hand towards the right; in architectural oval frame with pilasters on both sides and coat of arms at top.

Lettered below portrait with title, and: Professor in de Godtgeleerdheid en Kerkelyke Geschiedenissen op / de Universiteit te Leiden, in het 43.ste Jaar zynes Ouderdoms.; lettered with six lines of Dutch verse: De Kunst schetst … / … leven even groot. (by H. Snakenburg).

[NL] Portret ten halven lijve naar links van theoloog Joan (Johan) van den Honert op 43-jarige leeftijd in een ovaal. Bovenaan zijn familiewapen en links en rechts twee pilasters. Onder het portret een cartouche waarop zijn naam en gegevens in drie regels in het Nederlands en daaronder een zesregelig vers in het Nederlands.
