Oval board game with squares numbered 1-63. In the center a representation of an inn/brothel with two men, a woman and two children around a table, the men playing backgammon. In the four corners of the game men making music, dancing and playing games. Below the board, the rules of the game.

Titled: ‘Het nieuw en vermaekelyk gansen-spel, in wat maniere en hoe men het zelve spelen moet.’

With the address of the pulisher at the bottom: ‘Tot GEND, by Charles de Goesin-Disbecq, boekdrukker en verkooper in de Majorlynstraete, letter S., No 5.’

Woodcut on paper, with text in letterpress; total: 345 x 428 mm; frayed margins, a tear on the top left margin, slightly affecting the plate, otherwise in good condition. Buijnsters 2005, p. 94.
