New year’s wish card, woodcut and letterpress published in Amsterdam in 1749. Above the title elaborated vegetal frame inhabitated by allegorical figures: A lion, Justice, Fame, Abundance, Mercury and the Dutch maid. In the center a view on the city of Aachen. The title reads: ‘NIEUW-JAARS / COURANT, / Op-geofferd aan alle Heeren, Koop-Lieden, Burgers en / Inwoonders der STAD / AMSTERDAM: / Door haare Bereidwilligen Dienares, de Ombrengster der Couranten en / Dominees-Briefjens. Op de Eesten Dag des Jaars MDCCXLIX’ three columns of text signed by Metje Hendriks. On the bottom the address of the publisher: ‘Te Amsterdam, by de Wed: JACOBUS VAN EGMONT EN ZOON: Op de Reguliers Bree-Straat’
