[Two etchings] The Cudgel Dam and the Covered bridge; two men on the hill. [two etchings], published 1631-1657.

Two small etchings mounted on a sheet of laid paper. Underneath the two impressions, on the mount-paper a pencil drawing.
1) Small print with a view of a river. On the background, to the left, trees and bushes, to the right, a shed on the top of some rocks. Floating on the river a boat. A wooden dock leads through the bushes. Signed on the rock beside the boat: ‘AVE’.
2) A mountainous landscape with two men on the top of a rock, pointing towards the valley on the right. In the distance, houses, a church, and hills. On the verso of this impression an inscription in pen and brown ink dating 1809.

On verso collector’s mark: Pim van Eekelen (Amsterdam 1923-1984), L. 5101. Mounted on laid paper with references in pencil.

Etching on paper trimmed close to plate mark; total: 103 x 142 mm and 99 x 140 mm; state V/5 and II/2; nice impressions despite some dirt on the corners on the first plate; Hollstein /Dutuit 45 and 46.
