View on a village beside a river in two different states. Seemingly, the artist aimed at representing the same view in two different times of the day. Signed and dated on the bottom left corner on the impression with the first state: “JHP f. 1776.” On verso collector’s mark of Pim van Eekelen (1923-1984) [L. 5101]; formerly in the collection of Willet Holthuysen.

Etchings on paper in two different states, the first with less margins; plate mark: 128 x 153 mm, total 1st state: 136 x 166 mm; total 2nd state: 151 x 234 mm; on the bottom margins of both impression some annotations in pencil. Both prints in great condition.
