Original 1914 third and final volume of the infamous “Semi-Gotha”, one of the rarest and most controversial genealogical publications of Imperial Germany. Documents aristocratic marriages with women identified by the editors as being of full or partial Jewish descent, accompanied by extensive descendant lists and 18 folding genealogical charts. Primary source for the history of antisemitism, racial ideology and genealogy in pre-First World War Germany, illustrating how genealogical research was weaponized for political and ideological purposes. Third and final year (1914) of a publication series that ceased with the outbreak of the First World War. Compiled under the influence of the German völkisch movement and intended to imitate the prestigious Gotha genealogical handbooks, while denouncing noble families alleged to have Jewish ancestry.
