The scene represents the biblical episode of Abraham casting out Hagar and Ishmael, their son, to the wilderness (Gen. 21: 9-21). In the center in the foreground are three resting shepherds. Eleventh print of part three of a series of a total of sixty prints with landscapes with different subjects: “Amenissimae aliquot regiunuculae.” Numbered on the bottom right: “11.”
