[Antique etching, ets] After C. L. Clérisseau, Temple de Jupiter Tonnant à Rome (Tempel van Castor en Pollux Forum Romanum), published before 1800.

View on the ruins of the Temple dedicated to Castor and Pollux in the Roman Forum, here wrongly titled as the Temple of Jupiter.

Two women are taking water at the fountain placed in front of the ruins.

Titled at bottom: “Temple de Jupiter Tonnant à Rome”; signed :”Clerisau del. / P.L. sc”.

Etching on paper, trimmed to plate mark; total: 300 x 210 mm; slightly toning paper, traces of previous mounting on verso otherwise in very good condition.
