Half-length portrait of Jacobus de la Torre in an oval frame. The archbishop sitting beside a table with books, items for writing and some items related to his profession. Inscribed below: “Illustrissimus ac Reverendissimus Dominus D. Jacobus de la Torre, Archiepiscopus … obijt in Brabantia 16. Sept. A. 1661”. Numbered on bottom right: “3”. According to the Rijksmuseum record, the print was probably published between the 1680s and the 1710s. On verso collector’s mark: E in a circle: Pim van Eekelen (Amsterdam 1923-1984), L. 5101. On verso other scribblings in pen and brown ink and in pencil.

Etching and engraving on paper, trimmed to plate and pasted down on laid paper; total: 242 x 155 mm; mount: 507 x 318 mm; mat with stains and foxing, the print is actually in very good condition. Muller 5382a.
