Portrait of Jean Baptiste Willart de Grecourt at te age of 46. Portrait used in the book Oeuvres diverses de Grécourt tome premier 1740. Jean-Baptiste – Joseph Willart de Grécourt was a French ecclesiastic and poet born on February 7, 1684, in Vallières (now Fondettes) and died at Tours on April 2, 1743. Het is from Scottish origin, had much talent as a preacher, but had to be put to an end after the scandal caused by a sermon in which he had made many serious allusions to several ladies of the city. Het went into poetry and pleasures.
