From a set of prints presenting birds, here are three pheasants in a landscape. Signed at bottom, to the left: ‘F. Barlow delin. W. Hollar fecit’.

On verso collectors’marks: Gustav Friedrich Konstantin Parthey (1798-1872) (L. 2014), the famous collector of Hollar; Paul Davidsohn (1839-1924) (L. 654).

Etching on laid paper, trimmed within plate mark; total: 138 x 207 mm; only state; some rubbing on the surface and tiny tear on the bottom right margin; traces of previous mounting on verso. Pennington 2131.
