Half-length portrait of Admiral Egbert Bartholomeusz. Kortenaer, slightly directed to the right, wearing a jacket with medallion, resting one hand on his hip and the other on a baton. In the background to the right and left a naval battle.
Lettered in lower margin with publisher details and title and with two columns with four lines of Dutch verses each by Elzevier: “Den E. Manhaften Zee-Heldt Egbert Meeusz Cortenaer L.t Admirael van / Hollandt en Westvrieslandt, uyt de Maes” and “Dus ziet men Cortenaer dien Waterleeuw… / … een Heldt die zulke diensten doet? / P. Elzevier” and “Jan Kralinge excudit Konst-verkooper in de Kalverstraat by St. Lusij en steegh”.
On verso collector’s mark of Hans von und zu Aufsess (1801-1872). Published ca 1716.
