Oliver Goldmith is an Irish writer and lived ca 1728-1774. The whole series consists of 8 volumes, this is volume 2 with illustrations of people from abroad and a zebra. Three animals are described: The Horse, The Ass and the Zebra. further also on mankind: infancy of Man, puberty, Age of Manhood, of seeing, of hearing, of smelling, varieties in the human race, of monsters, of mummies, Wax-works etc.
Full leather binding with wear, hinges of the back almost broken. Decorative spine with some wear as well. Text on red shield: Goldmiths Animated Nature. Octavo edition, in -8, 21 x 14 cm. Interior with sometimes severe foxing, other pages fine.
