Classical publication of the two complete surviving satires of two prominent Roman poets: Decimus Junius Juvenali (Juvenal) and Aulus Persius Flaccus (Persius). Annotated by Ludovicus Prateus. This edition is part of the Delphin Classics (in usum serenissimi Delphini), a series Latin texts which were composed in the 17th century for the education of the French crownprince. This is a later edition from 1817.

Full leather binding in good condition. Ligth wear on the corners and hinges. Attractive spine with green shield and gilt letters “Juvenal Delphini”.

Provenance: With handwritten text on paste-down John Rupell (?) J.C.D. 1861. Also text in pencil about Nero and his date of death. At the end of the book the pencil writing: Samuel Bendoo (?) and Mahony (?).
