Full contemporary parchment bindings, 8 vo, 16 x 11 cm. In good condition. WIth engraved frontispiece. On the flyleaves a stamp of Bibliotheca Mosae Trajectensis (Maastricht). Fluleaf of first volume repaired. Dutch translation of ‘Etat present de la republique des Provinces-Unies’. Both French and Dutch editions are rare.

This work gives interesting information on the Dutch East- & West India Company (WIC en VOC) as well as on the Dutch government and its institutions. Volume IV has a number of descriptions of towns in The Netherlands, such as: Maastricht, Venlo, Axel, Hulst, Terneuzen enz.
