View on the Maren Kerk in Leiden. Within a decorative frame.
Hand colored larger copy after the impression that was to be included in the so called ‘Grote Hagen’, a large map of Leiden surrounded by small views on the landmarks of the city, engraved by Christiaan Hagen (1630/39-1695) in 1675. See the impression at the Rijksmuseum, inv. RP-P-AO-10-24.
Titled at bottom: ‘DE MAREN KERCK Gebouwt inden Jaere 1638 / TEMPLUM ad MARUM fundatum A. 1638.’ The vertical crease suggests that this print was used as illustration in a publication.
