Emblematic frontispiece to G. Suikers en I. Verburg’s: ‘Algemene kerkelijke en wereldlijke geschiedenissen des bekenden aardkloots.’ in five volumes, published in Amsterdam by Rudolph & Gerard Wetstein between 1721 and 1728.

The frontispiece is populated with many allegorical figures: Time and Fame in the center and history, Truth and Athena among the others are surrounding the pedestal on which can be read: ‘ALGEMENE GESCHIEDENISSEN des BEKENDEN AARD-KLOOS van de SCHEPPINGE at tot de doodt vab WILHELM den III koning van Engelandt’.

Signed and dated on the bottom right: ‘J. Wandelaar / inven / et fecit / 1721’.
