Louis-Francois Cassas was a French artist who toured Europe at the end of the eighteenth century. He visited Holland in 1776, and this impression must be after one of the sketches he took in or around The Hague.

Signed and dated below: “L.F. Cassas D. / Simon S. Van 1806.”

Etching on paper with margins; plate mark: 120 x 189 mm, total: 170 x 235 mm; three binding holes on the top margin, not affecting the plate; in great condition.
