[Antique print, etching and engraving, oude prent Hoorn] De Hoofdtoren te Hoorn, door het Onweder in brand geraekt op den 10 Maert 1750, published 1751.

Fire in the High tower  in Hoorn caused by a thunderstorm in the night of March the 10th, 1750. During the extinguishing of the fire, the top of the tower fell down.

On the top left  corner, a drawing showing the state of the striker before the fire.

Titled below: ‘De Hoofdtoren te Hoorn, door het Onweder in brand geraekt op den 10 Maert 1750.’

On verso stamp of the Provinciaal Museum van Drenthe te Assen, with a date, 30 Sept 1955 and number 304.

Etching and engraving on paper with margins; plate mark: 168 x 108 mm, total: 211 x 162 mm; some tiny rust stains, some light smudges on the margins, otherwise in good condition. Muller 4014.
