Portrait of Gebrand van Leeuwen (1643-1721), a Dutch theologian and professor. Half-length, directed to the left, head slightly turned to face the viewer, a corpulent man with curly shoulder-length hair, wearing a dark robe with white collar; in an oval frame with a coat of arms in the lower part on a pedestal.

Titled around the oval; lettered with production details on the top margin of the pedestal: ‘Edelinck Eques Romanus Sculpsit C. P. R.’; lettered with four lines of Dutch verse by Jan van Beuningen on the pedestal: ‘ ‘t Onzalig bygeloof, fel … Leeuwen nooit vergeeten.’ and lettered ‘J. van Beuningen’ below.
