Portrait of Frederik de Vries as young boy playing with Goltzius’ dog. He was the son of the painter Dirck de Vries, a pupil of Goltzius. The boy is trying to get on the back of the dog while holding a bird in his hand.

On the cartouche below some text in Latin. The text on the bottom is about a boy and a dog.

As described in the New Hollstein, the fourth state of this engraving presents the address of Guidi and his monogram repleaced with Goltzius’ monogram.

On the verso collector’s mark of C. Moyaux (Lugt 1829a).
