Patriotic allegory on the attempts of Stadtholder William V (1748-1806) to restore his power, 1787. The Dutch Virgin and Lion standing on the cornerstone of the State Building that Tweedracht tries in vain to overthrow. Freedom protects the state building from William V and Slavery. De Eendracht descends from heaven on the Tweedracht, Willem V and Slavery.

Notably, William V had two black servants at his court: Willem Frederik Cupido and Juan Anthony Sideron.

[NL] Patriotse allegorie op de pogingen van stadhouder Willem V om zijn macht te herstellen, 1787. De Nederlandse Maagd en Leeuw staande op de hoeksteen van het Staatsgebouw die Tweedracht tevergeefs tracht omver te werpen. Vrijheid beschermt het staatsgebouw tegen Willem V en Slavernij. De Eendracht laat vanuit de hemel bliksemschichten neerdalen op de Tweedracht, Willem V en Slavernij. Met onderschrift in twee kolommen. Gemaakt door onbekende meester. De Maagd – Vryheid – Godsdienst – Engel des Verderfs – Dubbele Arend – Maagd van Nederland – bliksemschitsen – bliksem etc.
