Signed and dated below the portrait: H. vander My pinx. 1736 / J. Houbraken sculps.

Within another larger architectural frame. Lettered: Samuel Luchtmans excudit.

As from the inscription, van den Honert was professor in Theology and Jewish Antiquities at Leiden University.

[NL] Buste naar links van theoloog Taco Hajo van den Honert in een ovaal medaillon. Gemaakt door Jacob Houbraken (1698-1780), after Hieronymus van der Mij. Rond het portret een draperie met zijn familiewapen. Het portret rust op een plint waarop rechts een zuil. Onder het portret zijn naam in twee regels in het Latijn en daaronder acht regels in het Latijn. Rond het portret een afdruk van een tweede plaat met een rand met een plint boven en onder het portret.
