The Prodigal Son as a swine herd, third plate of a set of four originally published in Antwerp in 1585 by Gerard de Jode. Numbered on bottom right corner: 3. Inscribed below in Latin: “Omnibus amissis opibus nudusque relictus, cum porcis ventrem vult satiare suum. Luc 15.15.”
Engraving on paper, remargined; total: 224 x 305 mm; state II/2; some smudges due to handling on margins especially, otherwise in good condition. New Hollstein 298.
