From a set of eight plates representing women from different parts of Holland. This is the 8th representing a woman from the Rijnland. After a drawing by Buytewech. The plate was issued in the Northern Netherlands by Hendrick Hondius before 1650. Signed on bottom: “WBuytewech Inuent G.v.S. fecit Hh excu” Two lines of Latin text below: “Rhenano producta solo lactaria Cymbae / Committit muliar, justo vevenda valore”. Also numbered “8” at bottom center.

Etching on paper, trimmed to plate mark; total: 202 x 137 mm; state III/3; in very good condition, despite the paper being quite thin; some restoration in the sky; Hollstein 60, Nagler 2, Wurzbach 2.
