Bust portrait of theologian Antonius Thysius (1565-1640), founder of the historical Bibliotheca Thysiana in Leiden. The professor is turned towards the right, looking at the observer. In oval frame and further rectangular frames. Inscribed under the portrait: “ANTONIUS THYSIUS, S.S.Theologiae Professor”, with address: “Lugd. Bat. ex Officina Petri Vander Aa.” Included in Van der Aa’s “Fundatoris, Curatorum et Professorum celeberrimorum aliorumque illustrium virorum…” published in Leiden between 1715 and 1716. “, nr. 41.
