Bust portrait of professor Petrus Tiara (1514-1586), turned towards the left, looking at the observer. In oval frame and further rectangular frames. Inscribed under the portrait: “PETREJUS TIARA. Grecae Linguae Professor Primus fuit Rector Magnif. Acad. Lugd. Bav.”, with address: “Lugd. Bat. ex Officina Petri Vander Aa.” Included in Van der Aa’s “Fundatoris, Curatorum et Professorum celeberrimorum aliorumque illustrium virorum…” published in Leiden between 1715 and 1716. “, nr. 113.

Peter Tiara, ook Petreius Tiara of Pieter Tjeerts was een Nederlandse filoloog, arts en eerste rector van de Universiteit Leiden.
