Portrait of the engraver Jan Punt, three-quarter length, seated with right arm on a table to left, with engraving tools, a plate and papers, holding a burin, left elbow on the arm of his chair, looking to right towards a painting on an easel, a palette and brushes on a chest of drawers beside it, wearing a painter gown, open shirt and short white wig; after a painting by Van der Mijn. Signed and titled below: “G.V.d. Mijn pinxit. / J.s M.c Ardell fecit / J. Punt, Peintre et Graveur”. Date of publishing ca 1740-1765 in London.

Mezzotint on paper with some margins; plate mark: 422 x 307 mm, total: 430 x 330 mm; some browning and staining along the margins, though bright impression. On verso margins reinforced and traces of former mounting on the margin above.
