[Antique print, handcolored etching] DE GROOTE of St JACOBS KERK, published ca. 1735.

Hand colored view of the Groote Kerk in The Hague (de Grote Kerk in Den Haag) dedicated to St. Jacob. In front of the church is the fish market. This print was used in: Jacob de Riemer’s: “Beschryving van ‘s-Graven-Hage…” Delft and Den Haag, 1730-1739.

Titled above, on a ribbon: ‘DE GROOTE of St JACOBS KERK.’ Signed at bottom: ‘G.v. Giessen del. / R. Boitet Excud. Cum Privil’.

 

Handcolored etching on paper with margins; plate mark: 285 x 344 mm, total: 323 x 371 mm; two sheets joined together on the verso; some smudges along the margins, otherwise in good condition.
