Frontispiece to a collection of works by Terentius, revised and corrected by the French humanist Marc Antoine Muret (1526-1585) (here Muretus).

This edition was published by Giacomo Piccini in Venice in 1642. Beautiful allegorical title page of a 16° format book.

Titled on the bottom left: ‘CORRECTISSIMVS P. TERENTIVS A. M ANT MORETO EMENDATVS VENETIIS MDCXLII’, signed on the bottom righ: ‘F. Ruschi Inv.’ and above on the right, on the tree: ‘I. Pecini./ Vene. / Excudit’.

Engraving on paper, trimmed within plate mark, pasted on laid paper and framed in black ink; total: 134 x 75 mm.
