Ornament print with at center Hercules fighting Hydra. From a series of six ornament plates featuring scenes from the story of Hercules, designed and etched by Du Cerceau and published by Poilly. Signed at bottom: ‘F. Poilly ex. C.P.R. / A. Ducerceau fecit.’ Numbered at bottom left: ‘5.’

Etching on paper, trimmed within plate mark; total: 158 x 211 mm; small stain at center, some rubbing and rust stains on the front. On the bottom left corner some lines in pen and brown ink. On verso traces of previous mountings, otherwise in good condition. Fuhring 2004 not described.
