In the foreground are the farmer and his pregnant wife who were attacked by a bull at Zaandam on the 29th August 1647. This small print shows how the woman is taken on the horns and threw up in the sky, while her child is thrown from her belly to the background.

Unsigned impression.

Engraving on paper; total: 178 x 227 mm; several regions of the paper have been reinforced with paper glued on the verso. Overall in good condition. Muller 1930 (unsigned). Maybe state II of the impression at the Rijksmuseum inv. RP-P-OB-77.010.
